Review: The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa
Thank you Avon Books for my advanced copy! All thoughts are my own.
I hear “Fake Dating” and I am all in. There’s just something about the tension of the fake dating trope that does it for me! It’s so fun and I think it allows the characters to really open up to each other without the pressure of being in a real relationship. I just love the Romance genre and I can’t be helped. Anyway, I had a great time read The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa!
I loved The Worst Best Man and it feels like I read that book a million years ago because I read in pre-pandemic in February 2020. A lot has changed in two years but not my love of Mia Sosa!
Genre:
Adult Romance
What I Liked:
The Tropes—Faking Dating! Pining! Communication! Interrupting a wedding and then falling for the groom! It was just pure fun. I loved all these elements.
The Characters—Dean is not my usual type of Main Character but ohhh let me tell you. I am now a fan of the perfectionist MC who doesn’t think he deserves love. Big fan. I also really liked Solange! I loved how passionate she was about her work and that she wasn’t ashamed of it while also being able to recognize the value of partnership. Solange also has the best Brazilian family and we got to see more of them!
It made me smile—Overall, this book just made me happy. It made me laugh out loud at points and tell Nick what I was reading. It made me swoon and pine and giggle. It was just a feel good read.
What DIdn’t Work:
The length/pacing—Things felt a little long at the beginning and I was ready to get to the action, but that’s probably a me thing and where my focus has been lately. According to StoryGraph it’s 320 pages, but my physical ARC was like 380…so maybe edits were made!
Content Warnings:
All of these are very “mild” or brief: infidelity, racism
