April New Book Releases

We are inching toward outdoor reading season my heart cannot wait! I truly cannot wait until I can reset out outdoor space. Reading out on our patio with my coffee in the morning and evening truly makes me feel so grounded. It’s my favorite way to start and end my day. Plus, the pup loves it as well! As we inch towards warmer weather, here’s what is exciting me for new books in April!

The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa

I read The Worst Best Man in 2020 and had such a great time reading it! It was pre-pandemic so it feels like I’ve been waiting for Mia Sosa’s next book for so long. I love a good fake dating story! It’s available April 5, 2022.

The Close Up by Sara Smith

I know the friends to lovers trope isn’t always the most popular, but I am a sucker for it when it’s done right. This is a friends to lovers Rom Com when the two are thrust together in a work situation filming the heroine’s docu-series. Available April 5, 2022!

The Romantic Agenda by Claire Kann

Number 1, this cover totally calls to me. But I love this centers on an asexual main character! It has a fake dating angle and centers on a group of four: Joy, her best friend Malcolm who’s she’s been too afraid to admit her true feelings to, Summer who Malcolm is really in love with, and Fox who is Summer’s ex-boyfriend.

Love, Hate & Clickbait by Liz Bowery

Apparently the theme for what RomComs i’m eyeing this Spring is fake dating, because we have another one! Faking dating, a viral photo, a political campaign…it sounds so fun!

Funny You Should Ask by Elissa Sussman

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this book so I am so ready for it! My other weakness when it comes to Romance? Second Chance Romance. And this book has that trope! Journalism and Hollywood are huge draws for me as well. Available April 12, 2022!

A Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel

It’s no secret I’m a fan of Emily St. John Mandel. Though I haven’t read much literary fiction as of late, Mandel is still an auto-buy author for me and I’m looking forward to her latest book!

The Lifeguards by Amanda Eyre Ward

Okay to be honest, I didn’t read The Jetsetters but loved the cover. This is another case of the cover is gorgeous and I hope the inside matches! It’s about three women who are raising their sons together and a secret revealed strains and tests their relationship.

I’ll Be You by Janelle Brown

I don’t do thrillers but I get asked all the time for recommendations, so I’m trying to read at least a few! This is about twins who grew up on a B list tv show sharing a role. One of them continues in Hollywood, the other disappears into normal life. It sounds interesting!

Unlikely Animals by Annie Harnett

Another genre I haven’t dipped into too often but a friend really enjoyed this one so I’m intrigued!

A Sign For Home by Blair Fell

I haven’t heard much about this book but the cover grabbed me and the synopsis intrigued me! I am not sure if it is an OwnVoices author, but it does have DeafBlind representation, which is not something I’ve read a lot about. Is this one on your radar?

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

I’ve only read one of Abby Jimenez’s books but I really enjoyed it! It was one of the first Romances I read via audiobook. I’ve heard fantastic early review of this book so I’m looking forward to reading it!

Finding Me by Viola Davis

Memoirs are one of my favorite genres and I ADORE Viola Davis’ work. I truly cannot wait to read this book. She exudes wisdom and I love that her career took a different start. It’s promising to read about actors who didn’t have immediate success when they were you as I enter the twilight of my 20’s.

What books are you excited for this Spring?!
