What I Read in March 2022

February was not a great reading month for me but I picked this back up in March with some winning choices, less stress, and a few new favorites. I read 13 books in March but still had some days where I didn’t want to read, so I’m hoping that April brings unputdownable reads and lots of warmer days. March has been so cold!

Blitzed by Alexa Martin

I think this was my favorite book in the Playbook series so far. I mean Maxwell was drool worthy. I really love how his and Brynn’s story played out!

The Unsinkable Greta James by Jennifer E. Smith

I really enjoyed this book and it was a departure from what I typically read. I think fans of Taylor Jenkins Reid will enjoy this coming of age drama set on a cruise ship.

By Any Other Name by Lauren Kate

Another total surprise that I really enjoyed! It was short and sweet and I think would be a fun movie. It felt very reminiscent of the early 2000’s RomCom’s.

Lease on Love by Fallon Ballard

It’s well known by this point that I adored this book. I really had a great time reading this book and haven’t stopped thinking about it. Plus, it helped me crack some elements of my own writing.

The Other Side of Perfect by Mariko Turk

This book was so lovely and nostalgic for me as a high school theatre kid. A great read for the former dancers and theatre kids a like.

Dating Dr. Dil by Nisha Sharma

I adore Nisha Sharma and this book was one of my most anticipated of the year! I really liked it and I’m excited for more of her Shakespeare retellings in this series.

This Might Get Awkward by Kara McDowell

I loved McDowell’s first book and this book was tough for me to read with the depiction of social anxiety but it also was really validating. It’s a While You Were Sleeping inspired retelling and I really liked it. But do be warned, the second hand embarrassment is real!

Stuck With You by Ali Hazelwood

I wanted to love this, since I had such a great time reading The Love Hypothesis, but I didn’t really like it. It was fine but I didn’t connect to the characters at all and didn’t really like the structure.

Inheritance by Katharine McGee

An American Royals prequel! It was a little strange going back in time with Beatrice, but I love this world so much I was just happy to be back in it!

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

I finally finished my reread via audio and it’s so interesting how I pick up on the repetitive nature of Maas’ writing more on audio than in print. But the story is still *chef’s kiss * magnificent.

Neon Gods by Katee Robert

This was such a great Hades + Persephone retelling! I have read Robert’s novellas before so I was oddly shocked by the amount of plot and world building. But it’s a whole world AND the smut knocks it out of the park. So fun.

The Romantic Agenda by Claire Kann

This was my first summery read of the year! It was different from my typical Romance but I loved the Ace rep!

The Wedding Crasher by Mia Sosa

It truly feels like a hundred years since I read my last Mia Sosa book, The Worst Best Man, because it was February 2020 when I read it! I was so happy to return to this world and dare I say it, I think this one was even better than the first!
