December Bucket List

Happy December! Well, it’s the last time I’ll be able to say “this year flew”…until next year. December is going to be a month where I channel all the cozy vibes and make every day count. I found my stride in October and I love the holiday season so much so I plan on being present and indulging in all the things that make me happy.

Plenty of reading, hosting #TisTheReadson, and making my writing dreams come true. What’s on your bucket list this month?

  1. Send Holiday Cards

Something we do every year but I love to send them out early in the month! I love getting everyone’s holiday cards, even in the age of social media. It’s a tradition I never want to let go of!

  2. Drive Around to Look at Lights

During December 2020, every Saturday night Nick and I would get a festive drink from Starbucks and explore new neighborhoods to find the best lights. It was such a special date night during that scary time and it’s become really special to us!

  3. Make Gingerbread Houses

One of my favorite traditions! One of my best friends and I usually do it together and try our hardest to keep the tradition alive amidst our busy schedules.

  4. Read a Book in One Sitting

There is nothing better than reading by the light of the Christmas tree and nothing else!

  5. Ice Skating at Canalside

Since we’ve lived in Buffalo, we’ve never skated at Canalside but it looks BEAUTIFUL! Truly seems like the most festive thing you can do and this year I want to make time for it.

  6. Visit the Christmas Tree Farm

We have the cutest tree farm not too far from us! We don’t get a real tree (I’m allergic) but I miss the tree stands when I lived in NYC so this is the next best thing!

  7. Edit Project ADK

Even among the holiday joy, work still must be done! I need to edit my book (not the one I wrote during NaNoWriMo) and I’d love to have it done before the new year so I can start fresh.

  8. Host a Cookie Party

My mom and her friends used to have a Christmas cookie party and it was the cutest thing. We’ll have to keep an eye on the state of Covid, but I’d love to host one this year!

  9. Donate Books

I feel like the theme of my year has been feeling “overwhelmed with stuff” so there’s no better time to unload all the books that need a new home!

  10. Create a New Holiday Cocktail

My favorite tradition I started back in 2019! I love creating a new cocktail for the season.
