Weekly Wrap Up 10/7/22

The first week of October brought with it productivity, routine, and a whole lot of joy. It felt good to slip into my old self with new habits that make me a better version of myself. Plus, I did some fun reading and I have some travel to look forward to this weekend!

I’ve been writing a lot about my desire for routine and finding my productivity groove. As with anything these days, I saw a TikTok that put things into perspective for me and helped me figure out a system that works for me. At least, it worked this week! And I want to keep it up.

The routine? When you get home from work or your work day ends (if you work from home), set a timer for 20-30 minutes and do something that will make tomorrow better. It could be tidying your kitchen, preparing lunch for the next day, doing a load of laundry, wiping down the counters in your bathroom. Choose something and race the timer.

That way, once the timer runs out, you’ve done something to make your home life less chaotic and set yourself up for success the next day. I was subbing for a fellow theatre teacher this week (I usually only teach on wednesdays) so this system definitely improved a busy week for me! On days I work from home, I wrap up work at 5 and set my timer before I sit down and enjoy my evening. I even put my “chore” in my planner that morning so I’m not left guessing what to do with my time.

Let me know if it works for you!

Weekend Plans:

I’ll be flying for the first time since February 2020 this weekend! I’m traveling for my dear friend’s baby shower. Wish me clear skies and easy airport-ing. I kinda love airports and used to travel so much, so I hope I still feel that way!
