7 Books You'll Want to Read in One Sitting
There's something about reading a book in a single sitting, getting so lost in the world that you can't put it down. Whether it’s a book that has you asking “WTF” or making you swoon, there’s something about that “can’t put it down” feeling that reminds me why I’m a reader. These are some books I think you'll want to read in one sitting!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
This book is everywhere for a reason. It really is intoxicating with how it’s written. Do be sure to check trigger warnings for it but I read this book in a single sitting on a summer Sunday and I’ll never forget how I felt reading. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a masterful storyteller.
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
Another book that is everywhere and for good reason! I read this when we were on vacation in Lake Placid and stayed up so late to read. The action begins RIGHT away. There’s very little exposition which I think pulls the reader into the story quickly, creating that “can’t put it down” feeling we all chase.
It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
Now I’ve not read this book and I highly recommend checking the trigger warnings for it via The Storygraph. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I have mixed feelings about Colleen Hoover. I read one of her books and truly did not like it, but It Ends With Us seems to be EVERYWHERE so it must have some qualities other readers love!
Survive the Night by Riley Sager
I don’t read a lot of thrillers, but I have read Riley Sager’s last two releases and enjoyed them. I think Home Before Dark was better, but Survive the Night MOVES. It pulls you in and keeps you engaged in the story (mostly yelling at the main character). I started this book at like 9pm and was almost done with it by midnight because I couldn’t stop reading.
Beasts of Prey by Ayana Gray
This is on my TBR but I’ve heard only glowing reviews from people I trust!
Transcendent Kingdom by Yaa Gyasi
This book is stunning in every sense of the word.
You Had Me at Hola by Alexis Daria
I will always have very fond memories of this book since I read it during a really difficult time and it brought me so much joy. It’s STEAMY, funny, delicious, and delightful. Plus, it takes place on a film set which is one of my favorite settings for a book!
Tell me about any of the books you read in a single sitting or simply could not put down!
