Weekly Wrap Up 8-20-21

This week has been heavy. And though we joke about how each and every week feels like something bad happens, this week was particularly difficult. My heart is breaking for the young women and communities in Afghanistan. I’ll continue to share resources as I find them on my Instagram.

Reading has been a challenge lately. I’m fighting burnout and I know I’m not alone in that, so I leaned into some of my favorite genres to cope. While focusing has been tough, it’s not impossible. I also need to remember to keep my phone out of our bedroom at night!

Here’s what I was up to this week.

Purchases of the Week:

I wanted to sneak away to the lake in August but it just didn’t work with our schedule. Instead, we’re heading for a long weekend in September and I’m counting down the days! New hiking gear is where my head has been, which is evident in my purchases!

I’m still all about organization and making our home a stress free environment. I’m also taking a peek at Fall clothing staples, even though I am NOT ready for the cold weather and short days to return.

Recipe of the Week:

Greek Veggie Dip—I made this up for when we had a game night with friends over the weekend and it was SO.GOOD. And so easy! It was great to throw over mixed greens the rest of the week for easy lunches and as a side with burgers. It doesn’t look the prettiest but it tastes DELISH, especially if you like Greek Salads!

Weekend Plans:

We’re laying low this weekend and getting Beasley ready for her first long car ride! We’re going to my parents’ house in Connecticut next weekend so we have a lot to do to prepare. I’m excited to go home and spend some time with my family and also be back in my hometown. I miss it so much and it’s not summer without being in Fairfield. I hope you all had a great week and find some time to rest this weekend.
