Weekly Wrap Up 4-9-21

Spring truly sprung this week and it has filled me with so much inspiration, joy, and hope. I read a lot, more than I have in a while, and truly feel so excited about my work again! The last couple months have been full of growing pains and figuring things out but I truly feel like I have a handle on things now. Not to sound like one of those girls, but there are LOTS of exciting projects coming to Read & Wright in the next couple months and I’m bursting with excitement and pride.

Here’s what I was up to this week:

What I Read:

This Week's Purchases (1).png

The Intimacy Experiment by Rosie Danan—My full review is here!

Kisses & Croissants by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau—This book took me BACK! One of my favorite series growing up was called The Royal Ballet School Diaries by Alexandra Moss and this totally reminds me of that series, but elevated. It’s so sweet and fun and has everything that I look for in a summer YA!

You’re Not Special by Meghan Reinks— I read this book via audio is I don’t like to say this about memoir (or a sort of memoir, according to the author) but I didn’t vibe with this book. I’ve followed Meghan’s YouTube channel for years and always liked her a lot, but the tone of this book didn’t work for it. It felt like an “advice book” for younger readers. I was interested in learning more about her life because she’s also an actor, but this book just didn’t do it for me. The last 20% of the book was really well done and important so I’m glad I read it!

Currently Reading:

Purchases:

I had to replace my writing candle! I use the Volcano candle from Anthropologie. I ordered some new sunscreens to try as well and will be sharing a post all about my favorites and your recommendations! I decided to treat myself to a new necklace I’ve been eyeing as well as a cute summer dress and fun sticker for my bullet journal.

Needing:

New Sunscreen—Based on your suggestions, I ordered for some for myself that I’m excited to test out! I ordered a few different kinds to try, like I said above, and I’ll be sharing my favorites!

Weekend Plans:

Vaccination appointments have opened up in New York and I am so incredibly thrilled and proud of my home! I know things are far from over, but this Spring feels so different from last year. There’s true hope and rebirth in the air. I didn’t think Nick and I would be able to be vaccinated before the Summer and here we are!!! We’re going to continue being cautious of course, and I know how frustrating it can be to see so many others getting vaccinated. Hold onto hope, my friends!
