Weekly Wrap Up 4-23-21 — Read & Wright

What a week! Nick and I completed our vaccine sequence. I was surprised by how emotional I got, but truthfully, this year has been HARD. I haven’t kept that a secret, since I think it’s important to avoid glamorizing trauma. While we have a lot to be grateful for, we lost a lot. So to think with that little needle prick we are a few steps closer to the world opening back up…it truly overwhelmed me.

I was left thinking about all that we’ve lost and all the people who didn’t make it to this point…I just couldn’t hold it in. We didn’t have any adverse side effects, but even if we did, I would have gladly taken them. Science is amazing and I truly hope everyone who can get vaccinated does!

We’re not out of our two week window yet, obviously, but I’m grateful to be heading that way. We’ll obviously continue to be extremely cautious and abide by what the CDC and our state recommends moving forward.

What I Read:

Until It Fades by KA Tucker—I’ll say it once, I’ll say it again: KA Tucker knows how to write a man. I’ll do a full review but I liked this book. It does contain some callous language that I didn’t love (alluding to suicide, a microaggression) but the story was really good. Not too steamy and great on audio!

A dark romance I won’t be discussing or promoting—I think I found a line I can’t cross when it comes to Romance and that’s okay! Part of what I love about the Romance genre and especially Dark Romance is that it allows us to full understand our boundaries.

Currently Reading:

I haven’t decided what I’m going to read next because I have my copy of A Crown of Gilded Bones and I can’t decide if I when is the right time to jump into it!

After it SNOWED this week, I’ve got major summer vibes on the brain. Plus some vaccinated gear because it’s necessary.

Watching:

New Girl—If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you’ll know we are obsessed with New Girl. I can’t believe we went this long without watching it!

Shadow and Bone—AHHH! It’s finally here! Shadow and Bone is on Netflix. I don’t know when I’ll be able to watch but i am SO EXCITED!

Weekend Plans:

I’m in Connecticut! My parents have been fully vaccinated since the beginning of April and my dad has an exciting birthday coming up that I wanted to be here for. We’re still wearing masks and keeping distance for the next couple days, but I’m so happy we could be here.
