Weekly Wrap Up 3-5-21
Another week in the books and it was a bit of a struggle! After having a long drive last weekend, Monday was a full recovery day trying to balance my exhaustion and getting caught up on work. I didn’t read much, but the one book I did read I totally loved. More about that below, but I am definitely reading outside my comfort zone these days.
But…my week ended with the best news: BOTH of my parents are getting vaccinated! My dad gets his first dose today and my mom gets hers next week. I’m truly thrilled, relieved, and so unbelievably grateful for science.
In small news, I tried the new Starbucks drink and it is easily a new favorite. My usual order is 4 shots of espresso iced in a venti cup with one pump caramel, one pump toffee nut. I’ve brought my own Oat Milk in a Swell bottle for two years and now, Starbucks carries it! It’s so good, a must try!
Here’s what I was up to this week:
What I Read:
Liar by Tate James—This is the second book in the Madison Kate series, which is a dark romance. I said this in my Goodreads review, but I am having a lot of fun reading this series. Is it for everyone? No. But it’s escapist and thrilling and at this point in pandemic life, it’s what my brain needs.
Currently Reading:
Fake by Tate James—Madison Kate #3
Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert—Out next week! Thank you Avon Books for my early copy!
Have My Eye On:
Blue Dress. Yellow and Blue Headband. Sandals Float Plan. Blue and White Headband ACOWAR Bracelet Hydrangea Watercolor
Recipes I’m Trying:
I made this Pasta Fagioli last night and it was a hit! I made a few adjustments so I’ll share that next week!
I also still need to make Claire’s Mother in Law’s Peanut Pasta! Seems so easy, I can’t wait to try it!
Weekend Plans:
I have a coffee cake recipe I want to make and I want to get in some serious writing as well. Plus, I need to prep for St. Patrick’s Day! We’re going to celebrate early next weekend since it’s a Wednesday and I’m excited. It’s a little piece of home I always love to celebrate with Nick, since he’s Italian.
What a week! I’m feeling much more invigorated with the sunshine that is creeping in during the day. Plus, the days are getting longer! I’m so happy about that! What was the highlight of your week?
