Weekly Wrap Up 4-2-21

Hello, April! Wow, I can’t believe we’re finally to April. As I mentioned in my March reading wrap up, it was a long month. One that started out snowy and cold, with tough personal losses in the middle, but ended with the warmth of Spring.

Although, we woke up to 28 degree weather on April 1, which feels like an appropriate April Fool’s joke. Here’s what I was up to this week and some things I’ve got my eye on! After not shopping for months, I may be going a bit overboard. BUT I feel hope for the first time in a long time!

What I Read:

Float Plan by Trish Doller—I was pleasantly surprised by this book and how much I enjoyed it! Be on the look out for my review tomorrow!

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong—Wow, this book is stunning. The world is so rich and complex. I hadn’t read any urban fantasy in awhile and it totally sucked me in. Review coming soon!

Currently Reading:

The Intimacy Experiment by Rosie Danan—This book releases on Tuesday, April 6! It’s the second book in the companion series, The Roommate. I’ve been really guilty of reading multiple books at once and need to slow down, so this is what I’m reading before pub day! Hoping for an escapist, steamy romance.

Recipe of the Week:

This barely a recipe, but it’s so easy and quick when you need something hearty on a weeknight! I love using Trader Joe’s sweet Italian sausage cooked up with some oil, feta crumbles, and sundried tomatoes over pasta. A little olive oil drizzle, salt, pepper, and dash of red pepper flakes…* chef’s kiss * for a quick and easy bowl meal.

High of the Week:

What could have been a low, I turned into a high! Our internet went out unexpectedly on Monday, leaving it pretty difficult for me to do any work on my computer. So instead I had some guilt free reading time and got to check out some furniture with my best friend for his new house! It was a nice treat on a Monday to get out safely and spend some time with my friend.

Nick and I both have appointments for our vaccines as well! I’m so thrilled and can hardly believe it’s real. I know we still have a long way to go, but it feels so promising that we might actually see a light at the end of the tunnel of this pandemic.

Weekend Plans:

It’s Easter and as I shared with our Easter Menu earlier in the week, I’ve come to really enjoy these quiet holidays at home. I’m making Nick’s favorite dessert, Banana Pudding, and we’re going to dye eggs and have a relaxing Sunday. We’ll also watch The Sound of Music because for some reason that’s my family’s Easter movie!
