Home Library Inspiration

Home decor is something that I LOVE but don’t always have the patience for because I want to buy everything all at once. But as we know, it can be expensive, fast. I have a hard time feeling like things aren’t “finished” but I know in the long wrong, being patient and taking the time to save for quality pieces that will last is the way to go.

I love my home office and library. We call it The Study since it serves dual purpose and it makes us feel a little more grown up. Once it’s safe to have guests, it will also serve as our guest room. That’s a lot of pressure for one little room!

I am sentimental to a fault but I * hate * clutter, so it’s a hard balance! Here’s what I’m thinking I want it to look like!

We’re working with a small room that has to serve the multiple functions I mentioned above, so I won’t be able to achieve the exact layouts of the inspo photos, but they are certainly the ~ vibe ~ I hope to achieve!

Pieces I want to Include:

Carson Bookshelf—I have ladder shelves right now and while I loved them in our old apartment, they just don’t spark the same sense of joy and level of maturity I’m hoping to bring to our space.

Chaise Lounge—I LOVE this chaise and how rich the color is. It’s so classic and elegant.

Art Print—You know we love Lake Placid and the Adirondacks! I’ve been eyeing this print for almost a year and I think it will be a stunning addition to the space. Very calming.

Faux Monstera—I’d love a real plant for the Study, but there is only one window and we don’t get consistent sunlight, so I think I’ll stick with a faux plant for now!

Basket—I love natural textures and have wicker all over our home. I love this basket to go with the monstera!

Mountain Shelf—Another mountain themed item! I love floating shelves like this because I think they can give a “cookie cutter” space a little charm. Plus the three peaks make me think of the Night Court insignia from A Court of Mist and Fury, which of course is a major weakness for me!

What would you dream space look like?
