What I Read in September
Yep, me again to remind you how I have no idea how the months go so quickly when the days in quarantine feel SO LONG. We have three months left of 2020. And while it’s been the year from capital H HELL, I’m ready to make these last few months work for me. I refuse to let 2020 win! Who’s with me?
This month was full of emotions and change as we officially said goodbye to NYC and moved upstate. We’re getting settled here. It’s definitely very weird and I don’t think I’ve fully processed it. There’s been lots of change and small moments of joy, so I’m grateful for that. Shockingly, I still read a decent amount of books!
Here’s what I read this month:
Delicious—an audiobook that is perfect for Fall!
Blood & Honey—The sequel to Serpent & Dove
The Flatshare—a fun audiobook with lots of great accents, didn’t love the book though.
Bringing Down the Duke—A regency romance that takes place in December. Steamy and romantic.
Say You Still Love Me—KA Tucker certainly knows how to write men. Not my favorite, but still a great second chance romance if you need a palette cleanser.
The Simple Wild (reread) —Speaking of KA Tucker…I can’t believe I read this for the first time only in January. I listened to it on audio for the first time this past month as a comfort read and I loved the audio! Highly recommend.
The Roommate—Another S T E A M Y romance. My full review will be up tomorrow!
The Summer After Me and You—A YA Summer story that I squeezed in before it’s full on Fall! I love books with storms in them and this one is after the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. My hometown wasn’t destroyed like the Jersey Shore, but we did have significant damage (a tree fell on our house) and we were without power for about 10 days.
A Princess in Theory—This was our Read It Or List It Review book for our current series! Tune in to the podcast to hear our thoughts!
Wild At Heart—Another comfort reread on audio. I really needed to escape to Alaska for just a bit and it this series delivered.
I’m finishing up Grown by Tiffany D. Jackson and wow…I think this is my favorite book of the month. I didn’t think I would have any standouts this month but I started in on Tuesday and I’m nearly done. Lots of trigger warnings though, so stay tuned for my review.
What was your favorite read of September? I didn’t have any stand out favorites this month sadly.
