Mid Month Check In

Somehow, even in this totally non traditional year, December is still flying by. I started off the month strong, basically reading one book a day and then last week, my mental energy just took a huge nose dive. I always get tired this time of year and with the added stress of the Pandemic, I felt myself needing a lot more time to recharge.

It’s funny isn’t it? Sometimes reading can recharge us. It can fill us up with good feelings and make us feel fulfilled. Other times, it can be so draining. Our brains need a break and that’s okay! This week, I’m hoping to spend a lot less time on my phone and spend more time getting fresh air, even though it’s cold, and being way more mindful of staying off my phone (especially Instagram) after 10pm.

With all that being said, I’m still read so many amazing books this month and I can’t wait to keep reading!

What I’ve Read So Far:

Snow In Love —Review here

Tower of Dawn —Review of the whole series is coming, once I finish Kingdom of Ash!

The White Christmas Inn —This one was cute, a little too sweet for my taste, but I think if you like multi-POV holiday stories with zero steam, you’ll enjoy this one. The setting, an inn in Vermont, is idyllic.

From Blood and Ash —I LOVED this book. I read all 600 pages in one day. Review coming soon!

Kingdom of Flesh and Fire —The second book in the Blood and Ash series! I can’t wait for April when the 3rd book comes out.

One Way or Another —I’d seen some mixed review of this one and while it’s not perfect, I really liked it! I wish it stayed in one reality, since I am definitely #TeamFitz, but I loved how it showcased anxiety and our decision making. I thought it was a solid little YA read!

I always love hearing from you, so please let me know how your month is shaping up! I think we’re all feeling the fatigue of the year this season, and that is totally okay. Don’t put any unnecessary pressure on yourself.
