What I Read in October
October is one of the most magical months of the year. The weather cools down, life slows down, and we’re one step closer to the most wonderful time of the year. This has been such a busy month, especially because I’ve been getting for #NaNoWriMo and the holiday season.
However, I still had a great reading month!
When No One is Watching—Fantastic. I highly recommend the audio and you can find my full review here!
The City Baker’s Guide to Country Living—A sweet little book full of Gilmore Girls vibes, but I will say it is missing the humor of the show. Full review here!
Ties That Tether—I was so happy we could have Jane Igharo on the podcast! Full review here.
Sh*it, Actually—Fun for movie buffs, didn’t wow me. Full review here!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo —I’m late to the party, but one of my favorite books of the year. Loved it!
Spoiler Alert—SO fun. If you love Game of Thrones, fan fiction, or even celebrity/fan romances, check this one out. Full review here!
The Assassin’s Blade —The first novella in the Throne of Glass universe. This one slowed the pace of reading the series for me. I’ll be review the whole series once I finish!
Hamnet—This was one of my most anticipated books of the year and it did not disappoint. Don’t be intimidated by the subject of Shakespeare;this book is about so much more! Full review here.
Crazy Stupid Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams—Wow wow wow I loved the latest installment of the Bromance Bookclub series! This is the third in the companion series. I loved first one, The Bromance Bookclub, last year and enjoyed the second, Undercover Bromance. I highly recommend this one for a steamy romance with a lot of heart. My full review is here, including content warnings as it deals with quite heavy topics.
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas—I finally got back into the Throne of Glass universe this month and wowwww I am invested now. it is really different from the ACOTAR so far but I am loving where it’s going. I started Queen of Shadows right after I finished it!
We are in the final stretch of this year and it is utterly crazy. What was your favorite read of the month of October? Do you have any priority reads for the rest of 2020?
