Wedding Wednesday: Our Ring Bearer and Flower Girl

I have had this post in the back of my mind for so long! I wish I had better photos of what we gave to our Ring Bearer and Flower Girl, but we were so excited to see their little faces I almost forgot.

When I moved to New York, I needed a survival job while I figured out the whole professional acting thing. I was totally prepared to wait tables, even though I didn’t want to. I respect anyone who can do it but it’s really not for me.

I was connected through an alumni network at my college to a family living in the city who needed a part time nanny. Someone responsible, warm, and playful. Hello, me. From there, I met and fell in love with a little boy named Gryffin (yes, named for Gryffindor I KNOW) and his mom and dad. A year after that, his baby sister Dylan was born. And the rest is history.

Gryffin and Dylan stole my heart the moment I met them. Some days are better than others, but I couldn’t imagine my life without them. Nick equally loves them and I think they love him more than me! So when we got engaged, we knew we wanted them to be a part of our special day.

We wanted them to know how special and important they are to the day, so we got them these fun little books that tell you all about your duties as ring bearer and flower girl. The books are really sweet and explain what a wedding is and why they are a big part of it in kid-speak. There is a matching Flower Girl book to the Ring Bearer one, but the one at my Barnes and Noble was all scratched up inside. But I love the Pinkalicious books, so I’m glad I could find another alternative!

We included some bow ties for G, because he wears one every day and a pair of sunglasses for Dilly, since she needed some for the summer. And we also got her the set of hairbows! Best of all, we also got them Sugarfina Gummies! Diamonds and bears for Gryffin and butterflies and roses for Dylan.

If you need a great gift for somehow who has everything, I can’t recommend Sugarfina enough! They are a little pricy for candy, but they’re really special and always make someone smile. I like to get them for friends as a little birthday treat or as engagement presents! Something small and sweet, but still totally special.

We gave them to them around Easter, so I found these great buckets at the Target dollar spot and some Easter grass. The gummies were obviously their favorite part. Since then, Gryffin has told me he will be my ring bearer for all time and that every time I marry Nick, he will hold the rings. Heart=melted.
