Wedding Wednesday: The Wedding Planner

Did you ever see The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez? What a classic, especially rewatching it and she was supposed to marry Alex Karev! (Grey's Anatomy fans, please?) I always looked up to her character and how she handled her job with such grace.

I have always been an organized person. I take great pleasure in organization and have used a trusty Day Planner since I was in middle school. But when it came to start wedding planning, I quickly learned I was in over my head.

I had heard people say that wedding planning is like a full time job. I scoffed in their face! Please, how hard could it really be? Fast forward to actually being engaged and wedding planning: IT’S HARD. So fun and so worth it, but it’s hard.

Since I'm getting married in my hometown and it’s not a destination wedding, my family and I decided not to use a wedding planner. I’m doing it all on my own, with the help of my mom and my bridesmaids of course. I’ve really enjoyed it, once I took a breath and accepted that you do not need to do everything all at once.

That would be my biggest advice: breathe, remember why you’re doing all this work, and lean on your fiancé and friends. This is supposed to be fun! And I am having so much fun. It's a lot but I think it is going to be worth it when the special day finally arrives :)

Our wedding venue is so unbelievably wonderful and they provide you with a coordinator who handles everything that day and the days leading up to your wedding. I’m so excited by this service and love them so much already!

Here is the wedding plannerI am using to keep myself organized, as well as a binder that I keep all our schedules, contracts, and contact information in.
