Happy Thanksgiving!
Putting a quick pause on Winter Street Week to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving, if you celebrate. If you don’t, Happy Thursday and know I am equally grateful that you are here!
I am thankful for this space each and every day. It fulfills me and gives me purpose, no matter what else is going on in my life. I want to share a few books I’m thankful in honor of the day and hope you’ll share some of yours with me in the comments!
Ella Enchanted—One I treasure deeply and made me fall in love with strong female characters. You don’t need a prince to save you, but he sure is a good accessory.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone—Like most kids in my generation, Harry Potter opened our minds and imaginations, stretching them as far as they could go. Harry Potter gave me my love of reading, coming into my life after 9/11 when i needed magic most and we’re still pals today.
Winter Street-duh.
Know My Name by Chanel Miller—If you read one book this year, or in your life, make it this one.
What Happened by Hillary Clinton—2016 opened my eyes to the darkness in the world my liberal bubble had shielded me from. What Happened brought me catharsis, as well as endless inspiration to be loud and speak my mind. My words matter, my actions matter, and I can change the world.
Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger—My namesake.
Her Again by Michael Schulman—No matter where I go in life, whenever people ask what I want to do I respond with, “I want to be Meryl Streep.” Still true, still my goal.
As always, I’m thankful for you. For reading my words, taking my recommendations, and cheering me on. Whether I know you in real life or just from a comment on the blog or my instagram, thank you for supporting my little corner of the internet. Wishing you peace and joy today.
